Paddy procurement starts from November 14 in Chhattisgarh

Paddy procurement at minimum support price (MSP) in Chhattisgarh is going to start from Thursday.

On the instructions of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, necessary preparations have been completed for the purchase of paddy at support price in all 2739 procurement centers of the state. The number of farmers registered in the state for this Kharif season is 27 lakh 1 thousand 109. This year 1 lakh 35 thousand 891 new farmers have been registered and 1 lakh 36 thousand 263 hectares of new land have been registered.

Acquisition through Biometric Device has been arranged in all procurement centers. Paddy produced by small, marginal and large farmers will be purchased at fixed support price. For this, the token application process has been started since November 7. In the procurement season, small and marginal farmers will be eligible for a maximum of 2 tokens and large farmers will be eligible for 3 tokens.

During the paddy procurement period from 14 November 2024 to 31 January 2025, farmers can bring their paddy to the procurement centers and sell it at the support price. Electronic counters have been arranged for weighing in procurement centres. The instructions have been given to pick up the paddy from the procurement centers through the miller and the transporter on time basis. All shopping centers have been ensured adequate provision of bardane to shade, water etc.

Helpline numbers have also been posted for complaints and redressal in Paddy Uparjan Kendras. A control room has also been set up for redressal of complaints at the level of marketing association headquarters, which has no. 0771-2425463. The amount has been arranged by Markfed for timely payment to farmers selling paddy. Arrangement of “Micro ATM” is also being provided in the committees for the convenience of the farmers.

The amount will be transferred to the bank account of the farmers within 72 hours of the sale of paddy in the committee by the farmers. On the instructions of Chhattisgarh Food Minister Dayaldas Baghel, a special action plan has been prepared in different divisions of the state by the state level team under the chairmanship of the Additional Chief Secretary to control the purchase of paddy recycling bogus.

Special vigilance has been arranged in the border area of ​​the state and check posts have been established. The list of authorized traders in the districts under the Mandi Act has been shared with the district administration by the Mandi Department. Re-verification of Girdavari measles through mobile app developed by NIC is ongoing. Real-time monitoring of rice mills and procurement centers will be established by Markfed at the state level by an integrated control and command center.

At the state level, an investigation team of senior officials of the state level has been formed for different districts, who will continuously monitor the paddy procurement taking place in the district. It has been directed by the Divisional Minister that the State level team will visit the allotted districts at least three times during procurement. The complaints received will be promptly acted upon by the concerned authorities and the action taken will also be intimated.
