In a significant step towards advancing research and development in the field of groundwater, the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur and Rajiv Gandhi National Ground Water Training, and Research Institute (RGNGWTRI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Monday.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Prof N V Ramana Rao, Director, NIT Raipur, Nidhish Verma, Regional Director and HOO, RGNGWTRI, and key dignitaries from both institutions.

The agreement outlines several key areas of collaboration, including creating a common platform for interaction between RGNGWTRI and NIT Raipur, strengthening the scope of knowledge sharing through collaborative dissertations and internships at RGNGWTRI, promoting research and development through innovative ideas involving the younger generation, disseminating research outcomes widely through publications in various journals, including Bhujal News.

The partnership also allows for collaboration in other mutually beneficial areas. This collaboration is expected to foster innovation, enhance academic exchanges, and address critical challenges in geophysics and geology through combined research and application efforts. Both NIT Raipur and RGNGWTRI have expressed optimism about the potential outcomes of this partnership, which is set to commence immediately following the signing of the agreement.

Dr D C Jhariya, Department of Applied Geology, and Dr Chandan Kumar Singh, Department of Civil Engineering, will coordinate all collaborative activities between RGNGWTRI and NIT Raipur.
