NTPC Lara celebrates 12th Foundation Day with fervour

NTPC Lara’s 12th Foundation Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on December 13, 2024 at Chakradhar Bhawan (Administrative Building) premises.

On this occasion, Executive Director Anil Kumar hoisted the NTPC flag and addressed the employees and highlighted the achievements of Lara station. In this financial year, till the end of November, 8049.08 million units of electricity have been generated, which is 252.38 million units more than the last financial year 23-24.

Addressing the employees Kumar said, NTPC Lara is a new project laced with new 800 MW super critical technology, and performance is very commendable. Anil Kumar said that by the end of the financial year, Lara station is going to become NTPC’s number 1 station. Talking about the construction work of Stage-2, he said that the construction work is going on at a fast pace, and he expressed confidence that this
work will also be completed on time.

On this occasion, Anil Kumar said that very soon NTPC Lara is going to become the largest power plant in the country. The proposal for construction of Stage-3 of Lara station is in the advanced stage of approval. After approval and construction, the capacity of Lara project will be 4800 MW and it will become the largest power plant in the country.

For corporate social responsibility and community development, NTPC Lara is carrying out large scale development work in Raigarh, Sakti and Jashpur districts. Construction of Nalanda Library in Raigarh city, arrangement of drinking water in Sakti district and construction of Vanvasi Hospital in Jashpur district is being done. Kumar appreciated the assistance being provided by the district administration for the smooth discharge of these works.

To make this occasion memorable, a cake was cut, and balloons were released in the presence of Ravi Shankar, General Manager (Project), Deputy Commandant of CISF Mahavir Singh, Department Heads, Union and Association officials.
