Union Health and Family Welfare Minister J P Nadda said the governments led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the country and Vishnu Deo Sai in Chhattisgarh were working diligently to serve the people, subsequently progressive development is taking place in the entire country and the state.

Due to the double engine government, people are getting double benefits, Nadda said while addressing a mammoth gathering at the Janadesh Parba, organised at Science College Ground here today to mark the completion of one year of BJP government led by Vishnu Deo Sai in Chhattisgarh.

“Today India is the fifth largest economic power in the world. In the next five years, we will emerge as the third largest economy in the world. Under the able leadership of the Prime Minister, 25 crore people of the country have come out of poverty,” Nadda said. The Union Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various development works worth Rs 1124 crore in the program.

Referring to the achievements of Chhattisgarh government in one year in Janadesh Parba, Nadda said that the state government was working with full responsibility in public interest on its own initiative. On the second day of the formation of the government, in the cabinet meeting, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana was approved for more than 18 lakh needy people of the state. As per Modi’s guarantee, paddy is being purchased from farmers here at Rs 3100 per quintal. Farmers have also been paid their due bonus of Rs 3716 crore for two years of paddy.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announced that from now on, every year from 3 December to 13 December, ‘Janadesh Parba’ will be celebrated. Chhattisgarh is completing 25 years in the coming year. This is also the centenary year of the founder of the state Bharat Ratna Atal ji. He announced the silver jubilee year of Chhattisgarh as ‘Atal Nirman Varsh’. Sai said that as Prime Minister, Atal ji laid a network of roads in the country. “Taking inspiration from that, we will give priority to infrastructure development in our silver jubilee year. In the next three years also, we will work on different themes,” the Chief Minister said.

Sai said last year, the double engine government deposited Rs 49,000 crore rupees in the accounts of farmer brothers. “In our first three months itself, we started giving the benefit of Mahtari Vandan Yojana to the mothers and sisters of the state with priority. So far, an amount of Rs 6,530 crore has been sent in 10 installments of Mahtari Vandan Yojana in the accounts of 70 lakh mothers and sisters. We send this amount on the first date and as soon as the amount comes into the accounts of mothers and sisters, their faces light up with pride,” he added.

The Chief Minister said that they had achieved the biggest success on the Maoist front. A year ago, it was difficult for anyone to even think that the scourge of Maoism could be eradicated. More than 200 Maoists were killed in a year. Through the niyad nellanar scheme, the light of development has again reached the villages freed from the roots of Maoism. “We have prepared a new industry policy, under which five lakh jobs will be created in the next five years through an investment of Rs. 2.5 lakh crore. We have started the recruitment process for thousands of posts in government services,” Sai said.

The Chief Minister presented a replica of Ayodhya’s Ram Temple made of bell metal by artists of Bastar to Nadda at the event. Sand artist Sudarshan Patnaik, who has been awarded Padma Shri, displayed sand sculptures on the schemes of the state government at the event.

MLA Kiran Singh Deo delivered the welcome address at the event. Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao proposed the vote of thanks. All the members of the cabinet besides Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh, former Governor of Maharashtra Ramesh Bais and Bihar Cabinet Minister Nitin Naveen, MLAs and eminent citizens were present on the occasion.
