FICCI partners with SAP to take the Global Bharat Program to its members

With an aim to pave the way for Indian MSMEs to access global markets, FICCI partners with SAP to take the Global Bharat Program to its members.

FICCI Chhattisgarh State Council and SAP India jointly organized a webinar on “Global Bharat Program – Making Indian MSMEs Globally Competitive.”

With this initiative, FICCI members will get access to the global marketplace, support in skilling their workforce to increase their readiness and relevance in evolving environment and commence on their digital transformation journey with SAP.

By providing access direct and indirect membership from national and regional sectoral industry bodies, FICCI’s purpose is to equip MSMEs with digital technologies that will further help them to create demand for their products and transact globally. Additionally, FICCI members will also have the opportunity to digitally up-skill their workforce through SAP India’s workforce skilling module by accessing more than 240 courses on Digital Financial, Soft Skills, and Productivity Technologies etc.

These will be available through an application for people to access via their android Smartphone devices, helping them adapt to the new working environments.

“The pandemic has affected the way businesses used to function, pushing organizations to adopt and rely on technology to stay relevant in the market. Our purpose of collaborating with SAP and bringing in a Global Bharat program for our members is to help them to the best of our ability in finding a solid footing during these unprecedented times. We truly believe that this initiative will help our Indian MSMEs to transform themselves digitally and empower them to take their business to the global level,” said Pradeep Tandon, Chairman, FICCI Chhattisgarh State Council.

Tanya Srivastava, Strategic Program Lead, SAP India said, “With the MSME sector contributing 29 per cent to India’s GDP and steadily growing, your business plays a key role in the government’s vision of a self-reliant India. 80 per cent of SAP’s customers in India are MSMEs, and Global Bharat is our initiative to empower this sector to become globally competitive.”  

SAP India has announced the launch of Global Bharat, a program designed to enable Indian MSMEs become globally competitive by equipping them with digital technologies in association with NASSCOM Foundation, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Pratham InfoTech Foundation.

The program further compliments the government of India’s vision to empower the MSME sector by providing them access to the global marketplace. As part of providing access to the global marketplace, MSMEs will have open access to B2B marketplace SAP Ariba Discovery, where buyers can post their sourcing needs and the suppliers on Ariba Network can respond with their ability to deliver the goods and services.

Director MSME – DI, Government of India, Rajeev S Nair,  Member FICCI Chhattisgarh State Council Vikram Jain, President, Madhya Pradesh Small Scale Industries Organization Arun Jain besides 100 delegates of various sectors of MSMEs across India participated in the event.
