Coal India Limited (CIL) has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Curtin University, Western Australia, for potential research and development collaboration.
In a regulatory filing today, the Maharatna company said: “Coal India Limited (CIL) and Curtin University, a body corporate established under the Curtin University Act 1966 (WA) of Kent Street Bentley, Western Australia 6102, through the West Australian School of Mines, Minerals, Energy and Chemical Engineering / Faculty of Science and Engineering, have executed a Non-Binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 28.01.2025 at Curtin University –Perth, Western Australia, with respect to potential research and development collaboration and knowledge sharing in the field of Critical Minerals, De-carbonization and Resources Technologies.”
The partnership will facilitate CIL to acquaint with the expertise of Curtin University’s West Australian School of Mines, Minerals, Energy, and Chemical Engineering, aiming to address challenges and foster innovation in resource management and sustainability. The collaboration also underscores state-owned coal miner’s commitment to advancing sustainable practices and exploring cutting-edge technologies to align with global decarbonization efforts.
