The Gare Pelma III (GPIII) opencast coal mines of Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Limited (CSPGCL) showcased exceptional performance at the Annual Coal Mines Safety Fortnight 2024, securing a total of 7 prestigious awards, including Overall First Place in Group E category.
The achievement reaffirms that GPIII mines have been setting new benchmarks in mining safety and innovation for four consecutive years.
On Wednesday, the award distribution ceremony was organized by the Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS) in Bishrampur, where the GPIII team was honored for their accomplishments. The event witnessed the presence of Deputy Director General (DDG) Ram Avtar Meena, Director (Technical) N Franklin Jayakumar, and other senior officials. GPIII Cluster Chief Mukesh Kumar and Site Head Vivek Rairker, along with their team, received the award from DDG Ram Avtar Meena.
GPIII demonstrated excellence in safety, innovation, and operational efficiency, securing top positions in various categories: Overall First Place in Group E Category, First Place in Engineering (Excavation) and Safety Management Plan, and Second Place in Explosive Management, Dust Suppression, and Illumination Consistent Excellence for the Fourth Consecutive Year.
Last year as well, GPIII mines won 7 awards in various categories, including safety, dust suppression, illumination, dump management, and innovation, reaffirming its commitment to excellence and reliability.
