Robbery in Chhattisgarh capital, robbed Rs 60 lakh

Armed robbers barged into a house located in the heart of Chhattisgarh capital in the daylight on Tuesday afternoon and escaped with Rs 60 lakh cash.

The robbers were clad in military dress and entered a house located in Anupam Nagar in the heart of Raipur city. The incident rocked the state capital as senior police officials rushed to the spot and started the investigation.

According to police sources, the robbery incident took place in broad daylight in Anupam Nagar under Khamhardih police station area. The victim, Vanoharan Venu, said that he had kept Rs 60 lakh cash in the house after selling his land.

Meanwhile, three robbers wearing military dress forcefully entered the house and held the family members hostage at gunpoint. They were armed with pistols. They escaped with the cash of Rs 60 lakh kept in the house.

The dog squad along with a forensic team reached the spot and started the investigation. All the exit points from the state capital had been sealed and vehicles checking had been intensified to nab the accused.

The police informers have been activated at the bus stand and railway station to get clues about the robbers.
