On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2025, Adani Foundation organized a Women’s Honor Ceremony in Salhi village. The event was held at the playground of Salhi village under the social participation initiative of Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RRVUNL) at the Parsa East & Kente Basan coal mine in the Udaipur block of Surguja district.
More than 500 women from various districts of Chhattisgarh, including Surguja, Surajpur, Korba, Bilaspur, and Raipur, were invited to the event. The ceremony, themed “Accelerate Action,” featured MLA Rajesh Agarwal as the chief guest.
The event began with engaging childhood games for women, such as “Fill the Bucket with the Ball,” “Game of Luck,” and “Knock Down the Bottle,” which filled everyone with excitement. Participating women expressed how these games revived their childhood memories.
Additionally, self-help groups from different districts set up stalls showcasing their products, which became a major attraction. Eight self-help groups participated, featuring:
- Jagruti Self-Help Group (Mandhar) – Costume Jewelry
- Aradhana Self-Help Group (Udaipur) – Mushroom Production
- Jai Maa Mahamaya Self-Help Group (Udaipur) – Mixed Namkeen
- Satya Sai Women’s Multipurpose Cooperative Society (Tekari) – Bee Wax, Foot Cream, Floral Garlands
- Kamla Self-Help Group (Gumga) – Soap
- Prakriti Self-Help Group (Udaipur) – Pickles, Papad, Mixed Items
- Women’s Multipurpose Cooperative Society (Parsa) – Spices, Sanitary Pads, Dairy Products
A stall by Mrs. Kavita Dev of Immuno Millets from Raipur also attracted attention. An M.Ed. gold medalist from Andhra University, Mrs. Dev is a visionary entrepreneur, educator, and health advocate who has been in the agriculture and millet business for the past seven years. She explained, “Millets are grains similar to wheat, rice, and barley but offer greater nutrition and health benefits. Millets are widely cultivated in the Indian subcontinent, with Chhattisgarh producing varieties such as jowar, bajra, ragi, and foxtail millet.”
The event was graced by several dignitaries, including:

- Ram Dwivedi, Cluster HR Head, Adani Enterprises
- Other officials, the entire Adani Foundation team, and distinguished guests.
The event aimed to promote women’s empowerment, self-reliance, and honor their contributions. The women celebrated the occasion by cutting a cake with chief guest MLA Rajesh Agarwal, who extended his best wishes for International Women’s Day. In his speech, he stated, “The status and role of women have transformed not just in India but globally. Women are no longer seen as weak; instead, they are the driving force behind the world. It is time to collectively discuss and take action for gender equality and women’s advancement.”
MLA Agarwal visited the stalls, interacted with women entrepreneurs about their products, and even purchased items. He also enjoyed traditional Chhattisgarhi delicacies at the food stalls.
A total of 500 women were honored for their exceptional contributions in various fields, including teachers, doctors, social workers, and members of self-help groups.
During the event, Mrs. Kavita Dev provided detailed insights into the benefits of millets. Manoj Kumar Shahi, Chief of Cluster, Adani Enterprises, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to women’s empowerment, stating, “We are running various programs to make women self-reliant. Our CSR team will also support women from project-affected villages who need assistance in employment-oriented projects.”
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ashok Kumar Panda from Adani Foundation, expressing gratitude to the chief guest, honored women, media representatives, and everyone who contributed to making the event a success.
