The two-day training camp of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will be held in Rajgir in Nalanda district, considered to be the political bastion of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

The camp will start from January 9. Rajgir, 125 kms from here, is the favourite place for Nitish Kumar who used to organise JDU national conventions.

Now, the BJP has decided to organise the two days training camp for its office-bearers and legislators. Senior leaders of the RSS and BJP will address the sessions of party leaders in election booth management, propagating party programmes among the masses.

Shivesh Kumar, vice-president of the state unit of BJP said the two days training camp would be of great significance this year as the party had gained 75 seats in the state assembly and running the government with the assistance of the JDU that was now smaller in strength.

The party leaders who are publicly critical of the working of the government are expected to attend the camp.

On Saturday, BJP MP from Aurangabad Sushil Kumar Singh, organised a sit in protest (Dharna) at the police station demanding release of three BJP workers who were arrested by police on charges of violating prohibition laws. Singh alleged the BJP leaders, Shiv Narain Sao, Guddu Chaudhury and Devendra Ram were arrested by the police on false charges of breaching prohibition laws. He claimed these leaders never touched liquor.

BJP MP held a public meeting outside the police station charging the officers-in-charge of Madanpur and Rafiganj police stations with helping the illicit liquor traders. He claimed liquor was available easily in the district. SP of Aurangabad S K Porika said the sub-divisional police officer has been asked to investigate into the allegations of MP.

Earlier, BJP MP from Sasaram Chhedi Paswan, too had criticised the state government for alleged failure of law and order and had demanded transfer of the district SP. His demand was conceded by the state government two days back when SPs of 13 districts were changed.

Sanjay Jaiswal, BJP MP from Bettiah too was unhappy with the crime situation in the state and through a press conference had charged the police with promoting illicit liquor trade in different districts.

Sanjay Paswan, former union minister and BJP MLC in a statement had even asked the chief minister to hand over the home portfolio to a BJP minister as Nitish Kumar had failed in controlling crimes. Paswan also demanded transfer of Amir Subhani, who has been holding home department for the last 18 years.
