Institutes, library in Raipur Chhattisgarh get reopening nod

The district administration in the state capital of Chhattisgarh had granted permission to reopen the skill training institute, coaching institute and library that were closed due to COVID-19 induced lockdown.

Official spokesperson of the Raipur district administration said on Tuesday that the district collector had issued an order to reopen the skill training institute, coaching institute and library as the number of COVID-19 cases was sharply coming down.

The administration had however put some riders that include coaching institutes would have to give priority to online classes or distance learning as much as possible and only 50 per cent to the capacity would be allowed to attend classes in the Institute.

It would be mandatory to keep the entrance and exit doors separate in the institute with operation without touch.

The order said that the institute should have a drinking water place, hand wash site, washroom, chair, table, bench, computer, laptop, printer, textbooks, locker, class room and surface area would be sanitised at regular interval with the prescribed sanitizer.

The exchange laptops, notebooks and course materials would not be allowed while the canteen in the institute would also remain close. The CCTV camera had to be installed to ensure tracking the suspect of COVID-19.

The district authority guidelines said that it would be mandatory to keep a distance of at least six feet between the chairs in the classroom. The institute should have sanitizer, thermal screening, oximeter, handwash and Q management system. A register would be maintained in the institute, in which the name, address and mobile number of all the people present would be recorded so that contact tracing could be done when a person is infected.

However, no institution in the orbit of the containment zone would be allowed to reopen. In case the area was declared as a Containment Zone, the Institute had to be closed immediately following all the precautionary protocols.

The order said that strict action would be taken against those violating the order.

In Chhattisgarh, 3,07,790 people were infected with COVID-19 till Monday. Of these, 2,99,856 people have been discharged from the hospitals while 4190 patients were under-going treatment across the state. In all, 3744 deaths have been reported because of novel coronavirus.

Raipur district recorded the maximum of 54,217 people infected with COVID-19, of whom 787 died.
