Godawari Power and Ispat Limited (GPIL), a flagship arm of Chhattisgarh-based Hira Group of Industries, would enhance the capacity of its iron ore pellet plant to 2.4 million tonne per annum (MTPA).
“We would like to inform you that Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board, Raipur has accorded its approval for “Consent to Operate” enhanced capacity of Iron Ore Pellet Plant from 21,00,000 to 24,00,000 Tons Per Annum with immediate effect,” GPIL said today in a Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) filing in Mumbai.
The company, having a dominant presence in the long product segment of the Steel industry mainly into mild steel wire, informed that it had also received approval for consent to set up manufacturing facilities in other divisions.
The Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board, Raipur has also accorded its “Permission to Establish’ the proposed expansion and modernization of existing manufacturing facilities along with integration of existing environmental clearances at existing plant location. It included steel billets from 4,00,000 MTA per annum to 7,00,000 MTA per annum, HB Wire from 1,00,000 MTA per annum to 2,00,000 MTA per annum and iron ore beneficiation plant 10,00,000 MTA per annum to 32,84,000 MTA per annum at its facility located in Siltara industrial area.
The Capex (capital expenditure) required for the above expansion will be invested out of internal accruals of the Company.
