NTPC conferred Role Model Award for HR Excellence

National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Limited was conferred with the prestigious ‘Role Model’ Award category in the most coveted and prestigious 11th CII National HR Excellence Award 2020-21.

This award is the highest level of recognition in the field of Human Resource by CII.  Since the institutionalization of CII National HR Excellence Award, this is the second time, when the award of Role Model has been conferred to an Organization, that too after a period of 10 years.

NTPC is the only PSU to have received this prestigious award. This signifies NTPC Commitment towards demonstration of Excellence in development and management of Human Resources through continuous process improvement. The successful implementation of HR practices is undoubtedly due to the untiring efforts of all employees of NTPC Limited and commitment of the senior management for the development and wellbeing of its employees and stakeholders.

CII National Committee Chairman on Leadership and HR, Sanjay Behl presented the award, along with Ms Indrani Kar, Head of CII’s Suresh Neotia Centre of Excellence for Leadership to D K Patel, Director (HR) in the virtual conference held today in presence of senior leaders from the industry and HR assessors.

The CII- National HR Excellence Award is one of the most prestigious awards in the HR fraternity that identifies and recognizes companies for excellence in HR practices after a rigorous fact-based assessment process conducted by a team of certified external assessors. The HR Excellence Assessment Model is based on the CII-Exim Bank Excellence Award encompassing all aspects of Human Resource Management.

The model can be effectively used as a framework to position HR initiatives, measure current status, and identify gaps to provide solutions in the areas of Leadership, HR Strategy, Development, People Well Being, HR processes and practices, Perception and Performance metrics.

Through this model, CII aims to help improve HR performance practices and capabilities by providing objective feedback for improvement while also facilitating communication and sharing of best practices and information within and among organizations.
