Bihar, Maharashtra at loggerheads over Sushant probe

Mysterious death of Purnia-born Bollywood star Sushant Singh Rajput in Mumabi which started as a crime news on June 14 has now turned into a full blown political war between the two states-Bihar and Maharashtra with the chief Ministers states joining the blame game.

And the tussle is being translated into action by the police authorities. While Mumabi police commissioner Paramvir Singh fumed Bihar police have no business in commercial capital, Bihar counterpart Gupteshwar Pandey said Patna police have every right to investigate the case registered at Rajiv Nagar police station on July 25.

IG of Patna zone of police Sanjay Singh on Monday wrote a letter to the Mumbai Municipal Commissioner protesting against 14 days “forcible” quarantine of City SP of Patna Binay Tiwari on Sunday evening. He said Tiwari did not violate the guidelines of the MHA on lockdown and followed all protocols.

In another development, Krishna Kumar Singh, father of Sushant today disclosed that he had informed Bandra Police Mumbai about threat to his son’s life. Singh has filed complaints against Rhea Chakraborty and her family members.

Union power minister Raj Kumar Singh who represents Ara in Lok Sabha has sent a two page letter to the union home minister Amit Shah demanding handing over the investigation to CBI to end the ongoing spat between the two states. The dispute between the two states over jurisdiction would come to an end once probe is handed over to CBI, said Singh, a former union home secretary.

Meanwhile, members of the Karni Sena, an organisation of Rajputs held demonstration at the office of the NCP on Beer Chand Patel road here and demanded immediate arrest of the killers of Sushant.

Bihar chief minister Nitish kumar on Monday regretted action of  Bombay Municipal Corporation to quarantine Patna SP Vinay Tiwari, who had reached Mumbai on Sunday for 15 days. Talking to media persons at the Gyan Bhawan, where special session of the Bihar assembly was taking place, Nitish said whatever had happened was not right.

The issue came up for discussion during the special session of Bihar assembly also. Four inspectors of Patna police who were camping in Mumbai since last Saturday have gone underground to escape forcible quarantine.
