Even as the situation in the West Bengal post election turns critical with BJP workers in the target, party President J P Nadda is reportedly rushing to the state on Tuesday to take stock of the situation.
Meanwhile, the Union home ministry has taken a serious view of the outbreak of alleged political violence in West Bengal after declaration of poll results on Monday and asked the state government for a detailed report on post-election targeting of political workers belonging to the Opposition camp.
Highly placed BJP sources told News Riveting that BJP President would be reaching Kolkata on Tuesday. He would meet the party leaders and discuss the situation as the BJP workers and supporters had been targeted by the Trinamool Congress workers. The offices of the BJP and its affiliated organization had been vandalized in the last two days.
Vehicle of Suvendu Adhikari, who defeated TMC chief Mamata Banerjee was also reportedly attacked on Sunday evening.
In a tweet, BJP’s West Bengal in-charge Kailash Vijayvargiya had said nine party workers were killed in the violence unleashed by the TMC workers. The BJP State President, Dilip Ghosh today met Governor Jagdeep Dhankar and apprised him about the situation.
The ministry of home affairs had asked the state’s Chief Secretary to send a factual report “as soon as possible” on the incidents of political attacks and resulting damage/casualties across West Bengal since Sunday, along with the action taken by the state police.
