People in the western and central Africa can have a sip of brews and blends manufactured by the Bhopal-based Som Distilleries and Breweries.
The company incorporated by J K Arora and A K Arora in 1993 would be expanding its distribution network abroad. “This is to inform you that we have signed a MoU with Indian Fashion FZE, based out of UAE for export of our Beer and IMFL for West and Central Africa,” the company said in a regulatory filing today.
Through the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), they expect a substantial increase in the export turnover in the current financial year, the company said.
Som Distilleries and Breweries is engaged in the manufacture and sale of Beer and Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL). The Company is a market leader in Beer in the State of Madhya Pradesh and caters to both domestic and international markets.
Primarily engaged in brewing, fermentation, bottling, canning and blending of beer and Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), Som Distilleries and Breweries currently has an installed capacity of 59,200 KL of beer and 5,400 KL of IMFL. In the past two years, the company has tripled its capacity.
It also has plans to increase the capacity of beer to 99,200 KL and IMFL bottling capacity to 16,200 KL by FY2013. SOM’s well-known brands, Hunter and Woodpecker are supplied as draught beer to all the major hotels in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
