Family dispute in Ram Vilas  Paswan ‘s  Lok Janshakti Party that started on Sunday night in New Delhi reached to Patna’s Pir Ali Khan road where supporters of Chirag Paswan stormed the party office and removed posters, banners and name plates of uncle and newly elected president of the rival group, Pashupati Kumar Paras.

Heavy deployment of police force was made on the road leading to the airport and inside the LJP office fearing backlash from the supporters of Paras, who is on guard—as Chirag wrote an emotional letter putting the ball in his “guardian” court.

Hundreds of supporters blackened the faces of the five rebel MPs with Tar (bitumen) and the board carrying the name of Paras was also smeared with black colours. They removed all posters of the rebel MPs and their supporting leaders, including newly elected Working President Suraj Bhan Singh.

The Chacha-Bhatija fight shifted to control the party office near Patna Airport after the rebel LJP MPs landed from New Delhi. MP from Khagaria Mehboob Ali Kaiser alleged that Chirag had committed blunder in the assembly elections by attacking the JDU and Nitish Kumar. He is a political novice; hence the leadership has been handed over to an experienced Paras. Due to the childish approach of Chirag, the party lost the assembly elections. He, however, admitted Chirag carried certain qualities of his father.

As the convoy of rebel MPs passed through the road opposite LJP office, Chirag Paswan supporters swung into action by taking control of the headquarters, removing all posters, banners and boards of the rebel MPs.

The group led by Paras elected former MP from Nawada, Suraj Bhan Singh as Working President, who called the meeting of the working committee of the party here by weekend. At present, Raju Tiwari is Working President of LJP led by Chirag.

On the other hand, Chirag  also summoned a meeting of the working committee of the LJP in New Delhi and invited all members. He announced the expulsion of the five rebel MPs from the party.

Chirag today issued a four page emotional letter addressed to Paras and said, “LJP was formed by Papa (Ram Vilas). Party is like a mother for all of us, I tried my level best to keep the family intact and united, but I failed.”

He claimed on March 29,2021, he had sent a letter to Uncle Paras requesting him to act like family guardian since he had lost his father and another uncle Ramchandra Paswan, MP from Samastipur. He alleged Paras had been trying to break the party even when Ram Vilas Paswan was alive. He (Paras) was desperate to become an MLC and minister in Bihar under Nitish Kumar. Ram Vilas Paswan favoured either Ms Nutan Singh, wife of forest minister Neeraj Kumar Babloo or Raju Tiwari, working president, but under pressure from Paras, he asked Nitish to induct him into the cabinet.

Chirag regretted when Shradh (post death rituals) of Ram Vilas Paswan was being performed, mother wanted Rs 25 lakh to arrange the programme, but Paras did not oblige. The Jamui MP in his long letter said since his father died, Paras had stopped visiting the family nor even communicated with the mother (Mrs Paswan).

Chirag alleged Paras was unhappy when Ram Vilas Paswan made him (Chirag) President and when Prince Paswan, son of younger brother Ramchandra Paswan, was made Bihar unit President.
