The Communist government in Kerala had filed cases against over 100 Congress workers for flouting the COVID-19 protocols.

The friends in West Bengal had turned foes in Kerala as the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government led by Pinarayi Vijayan had launched an attack on the Congress party. The latest being the reported police cases against the party workers who gathered at Indira Bhawan in Thiruvananthapuram as K Sudhakaran today assumed the office of Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee President.

The Museum police have registered cases against the Congress workers under the Kerala Epidemic Diseases Act. Sources said that over 100 Congress workers were identified for not observing COVID-19 protocols that included physical distancing and wearing masks properly.

Soon after taking charge, Sudhakar lashed at the Communist government for associating him with the BJP and the RSS. While reacting to his appointment as KPCC Chief, the CPI(M) had said that he was an extension of the BJP/RSS.

“Everyone knows that it’s Pinarayi Vijayan who has taken the help of the BJP and RSS,” he said, adding that it was only the Congress that had fought the saffron group. Outgoing President Mullapally Ramachandran seconded him and said, “Everyone knows that Pinarayi Vijayan government came to power for the second term because of a secret understanding between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and him.”
