SAIL-BSP’s yoga class for tribal children

SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant supported DAV Rowghat Ispat senior Secondary Public School in Antagarh organised Yoga classes for tribal children on International Yoga Day today.

Children from Kolar and Bhainsgaon in Kanker district and Bharanda and Binjili villages in Narayanpur district, all of which are located near Rowghat in Chhattisgarh, attended the classes.

As part of CSR activities, SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant has been running a number of welfare services in the field of education, health, sports and medical services for villages located in the buffer zone of Rowghat. SAIL-Bhilai is providing free education, school uniform, stationary, shoes, daily pick and drop bus facility, breakfast and mid-may meals, utility kit to over 200 students of DAV Rowghat Ispat Sr. Secondary Public School, Antagarh.

The students are from among the 22 buffer zone villages in Rowghat mines area falling in two districts that have been identified as Aspirational Districts by Government of India.  A large number of students from these villages in far-flung forest areas participated enthusiastically in the Yoga Day celebrations.


It is worth mentioning that SAIL has been bestowed with CSR Times Award 2019 for best Public Sector in the Education category for successfully running the DAV Rowghat Ispat Sr. Secondary Public School, Antagarh in Chhattisgarh.  The school was set up to provide a conducive atmosphere for mental, physical and academic enrichment of the children, so that they can develop a modern outlook and scientific temperament, without compromising on human and moral values. The school strives to nurture its students, in a way that they would prove to be an asset to the society.
