Seven Indian Police Service (IPS) officials have been promoted as Special Directors in of the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Of the officials, who belong to the 1988 cadre of IPS, six are from IB and one from CBI. They have been promoted from the post of Additional Director.
The IB officials include Anish Dayal Singh, Manoj Kumar Lal, Amitabh Ranjan, NK Mishra, Tapan Kumar Deka and Manmohan Singh. All the officials are from the 988 batch of Indian Police Service (IPS).
Praveen Sinha, an IPS officer from Patna, has been promoted as special director of CBI.
Sinha, a resident of Road no 6 in Rajendra Nagar in Patna belongs to 1988 batch IPS in Gujarat cadre. He is son of Dr Purnendu Narain Sinha, who was a minister in Bihar.
Officials in the BSF, CRPF, NDRF have also been promoted as Special Directors.
