Meghalaya farmer gifts maize to COVID workers

The COVID warriors working relentlessly in a remote centre of Meghalaya received an appreciation that they had never anticipated; another precedent set to salute the Corona fighters.

Carrying a bundle of maize, a villager turned up at a COVID vaccination centre and gifted the produce from his field to the warriors. It was an appreciation for the noble cause that the medical fraternity had been doing to fight the novel virus.

The good Samaritan has impressed netizens with a simple deed of kindness. He hails from Chimagre Songittal in the East Garo Hills district of the state. His act of kindness and the pictures of the man has gone viral on social media.

Meghalaya Chief Minister’s office referred to the farmer with a kind appreciation. Similarly, he had been receiving applause from many users for his conduct.

“Stories like this retain my faith in humanity,” said one user while another commented : “Kind hearted person… very simple and beloved people. I used to see this kind of gesture in my childhood but it has become rare nowadays. I love the humanity of our people.”
