Hyderabad, August 28
Failing to fly abroad following COVID restrictions, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy would be celebrating his silver jubilee anniversary of wedding in Shimla, the Queen of Hills in Himachal Pradesh.
Jagan along with his limited family members had left for Shimla on a five-day trip. He took a special flight to Chandigarh, from where the family flew by helicopter to Shimla. Jagan is expected to return on August 30.
The family had earlier planned a trip to London and Paris. But had to be dropped because of the prevailing COVID-19 situation and restriction on international travel. They finally decided to celebrate the event falling on August 28 in Shimla. The 49-year-old Chief Minister married Bharathi Reddy in 1996, and they have two children.
The trip is exclusively personal and barring the security personnel, no other officials are accompanying the Chief Minister.
