SAIL-BSP records best ever April-August performances in several areas

SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant has recorded its best April to August performances in several areas in the first five months period of current fiscal year 2021-22.

The Plant recorded highest ever April-Aug loading of 9,70,552 Tonnes (T) of steel for Direct despatch in April-Aug 21 as against previous best of 821106 in April-Aug 2019-20.

Blast Furnace 8 recorded its best April to August Hot Metal production of 9,93,277 T as against previous best of 9,82,911 T in Apr-Aug 2019.

Total Cast Steel Production of 10,13,108 T by Modex unit, SMS 3 in April-Aug period of current fiscal year 2021-22 has been the best for any April to August period, surpassing previous best of 7,00,075 T in April-Aug 20-21.

Total Cast Steel Production by SMS 3 included best ever Cast Billet Production of 6,20,877 T and best Cast Bloom Production of 3,92,231 T in April-Aug period of current fiscal year 2021-22 as against previous best of 405157 T and 294918 T, respectively in April-Aug 20-21.

Finished Rail Production of 2,77,533 T by Universal Rail Mill in April-Aug period of current fiscal year 2021-22 has been the best for any April to August period, surpassing previous best of 2,62,817 T in April-Aug 20-21.

Prime Rail Production of 2,49,303 T by Modex Unit Universal Rail Mill in April-Aug period of current fiscal year 2021-22 has been the best for any April to August period, surpassing previous best of 2,38,512 T in April-Aug 20-21.  URM that rolls out the world’s longest 130 metre rail in single piece has been rolling out a new R260 Grade of rails in 60E1 profile for Indian Railways in the current fiscal year.

Another Modex Unit, Bar & Rod Mill also recorded best April to August production of 2,67,187 T in April-Aug period of current fiscal year 2021-22, surpassing previous best of 88,561 T in April-Aug 20-21.

In the area of techno-economics, Blast Furnace-8 recorded its best April-Aug Productivity (Wkg. Vol.) figure of 1.983 T/M3/Day in Aug 21 as against 1.93 T/M3/Day in April-Aug 20-21.
