JSW Ispat Special Products Limited (JISPL), formerly known as Monnet Ispat and Energy Limited (MIEL), has started the commercial production of slab from its Raigarh facility.
“Pursuant to Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, this is to inform that the commercial production of Slab, has been commenced at the plant of the Company located at Raigarh, Chhattisgarh with effect from 14th September 2021,” JISPL said in a regulatory filing today. Categorised as flat products, the slabs would cater the domestic market, the company said.
An US $13 billion – (as on 31st March 2021) conglomerate, with presence across India, USA, South America & Africa, the JSW Group is a part of the O.P. Jindal Group with strong footprints across core economic sectors, namely, Steel, Energy, Infrastructure, Cement, also in Ventures and Sports. In August 2018, the Monnet Ispat and Energy Limited (MIEL) was acquired jointly by a consortium of Aion Investments Private Limited (AION) and JSW Steel Limited. The name of the Company was changed to JSW Ispat Special Products Limited (JISPL) with effect from September 23, 2020.
The slab would be produced in the JISPL’s world class integrated steel plant located at Raigarh in Chhattisgarh that has a production capacity of 1.5 MTPA. The products include HR plates, rebars and structure profiles to cater to the rapidly growing infrastructure and construction industry.
