Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Delhi and co—in-charge of Punjab Raghav Chadha hit out at Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Navjot Singh Sidhu and called him ‘Rakhi Sawant’ of politics on Friday.
The reaction was in response to the cricketer-turned-politician’s attack on the Delhi government on Twitter for its “masquerade” over the contentious agriculture laws passed by the Centre. Chadha while replying to Sidhu’s video, tweeted, “The Rakhi Sawant of Punjab politics -Navjot Singh Sidhu- has received a scolding from Congress high command for a nonstop rant against Capt. Therefore today, for a change, he went after Arvind Kejriwal. Wait till tomorrow for he shall resume his diatribe against Capt with vehemence.”
Sidhu had tweeted that the Delhi government had notified one of the three agriculture laws (in December last year) that allows farmers to sell outside mandis and demanded to know from Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal if the law had been de-notified.
The move comes after BJP alleged that Sidhu seems to have forgotten the fact that he did not object to or raise any concern when the contract farming Act was passed in 2013 in the state and his wife was part of the state government.
Sidhu responded to AAP lawmaker and tweeted, “They say man descended from the apes and the monkeys, Looking at your mind (raghav chadha), I believe you are still descending! You still haven’t answered my question about notifying the Farm Laws by your Government.”
