ACC, the cement and building material company of the diversified Adani Portfolio, is championing green energy in agriculture by facilitating solar-powered irrigation systems in Chhatatand and Samlapur villages of Dhanbad.

Designed to support small and marginal farmers, these 5 HP solar irrigation systems cover 15 acres of farmland, empowering cost-effective and uninterrupted irrigation. Enables cost savings of up to ₹30,000 per season per farmer. This initiative is improving crop productivity, reducing fuel dependency, and contributing to climate-resilient farming practices in the region.

This initiative ensures uninterrupted irrigation even in areas with unreliable power, allowing small and marginal farmers to grow multiple crops year-round. As a result, farmers are seeing better yields, reduced fuel expenses, and increased income. Importantly, these solar systems are contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions by up to 1.5 tons per pump annually.

Local farmers have embraced this change after awareness sessions and community training. “Now we don’t worry about diesel or power cuts. We can farm when we need to,” said one of the beneficiaries. ACC’s efforts reflect its long-term commitment to renewable energy adoption and rural prosperity.
