Adani ports post 35% growth in cargo volume

The Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ)’s portfolio of ports handled a cargo volume of 234.31 MMT in the first thee quarters of the financial year 2021-22, registering a growth of 35 per cent compared to corresponding period of previous fiscal.

It surpassed the cargo volume handled by APSEZ in FY20, the company said in a regulatory filing today. During the period, Non-Mundra ports grew by 74 per cent and contributed 52 per cent of the total cargo basket.

Parity between east coast and west coast ports during the period was 38 per cent:62 per cent compared to 24 per cent:76 per cent. Mundra the flagship port of APSEZ grew by 8 per cent and handled cargo volume of 113 MMT.

Container volume across the ports crossed 6 Mn TEUs of which 4.9 Mn TEUs were handled at Mundra Port.

Dry cargo volume registered a growth of 49 per cent and surpassed 116 MMT.
