Adani Vidya Mandir (AVM) at Sarguja has registered a significant achievement by receiving the prestigious accreditation from National Accreditation Board for Education and Training (NABET) of Quality Council of India (QCI) for the academic session 2024-25.

With this recognition, AVM Sarguja has become the first school in rural Chhattisgarh to receive this meticulous assessment-based national recognition for quality education. The recognition is proof that the educational, teaching-learning and administrative arrangements of the school are in accordance with the highest quality standards set at the national level.

The achievement reflects Adani Foundation’s long-term commitment to inclusive and quality education, through which the standard of education in rural and underprivileged areas is being continuously strengthened.

Adani Vidya Mandir Sarguja is a unique educational initiative of Adani Foundation, located in the remote tribal village of Salhi in Sarguja district. The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and primarily provides education to children from tribal families whose land has been acquired for the coal mining project of Rajasthan State Vidyut Nigam Nigam Limited (RRVUNL). The school is not just an educational institution, but a center of social change, which aims to connect first-generation learners from tribal communities with mainstream education.

The children come from very ordinary backgrounds, where educational support at home is almost non-existent. The school provides free education to all students and provides them with books, stationery, uniform, nutritious breakfast and lunch. It has successfully completed the NABET on-site final assessment examination on 5th and 6th February, 2025 after undergoing elaborate internal audit procedures.

NABET accreditation is not just a certificate, but a commitment to continuous improvement and strengthening the school’s academic ecosystem. After this recognition, the students in the school are provided with facilities equivalent to those of metropolitan schools. These include a well-organized and scientifically designed library, e-learning based computer education for all classes, fully equipped laboratories and sports facilities. Students are brought by school buses from within a 30 km radius of the forest. The objective of the school is to integrate the students of the area with the mainstream, that too without compromising the cultural values and traditions of the tribal community.

The accreditation confirms that the school’s processes are systematic, monitored and result-oriented, thereby providing quality education to students as per national standards. The audit process ensures accountability in all areas, from education to administration, thereby strengthening the trust of stakeholders. Accreditation as a CBSE-affiliated school ensures that academic planning and assessment are in line with best educational practices. Structured training and continuous development opportunities will be available for teachers, thereby enriching and updating the classroom experience. NABET promotes a balanced education that nurtures the intellectual, social, emotional and cultural development of students.
