Adani’s Sarguja mines in Chhattisgarh get “Platinum Award” for Health and Safety

Adani Enterprises Limited has been awarded the “Platinum Award” with the Apex India Occupational Health and Safety Award 2020.

The company has been given this award as per the MDO sanctioned by the Rajasthan government authorized Parsa ex-Kanta Basan Opencast coal mine project. The coal from which goes officially to the Rajasthan Electricity Corporation. At the same time, this award is given by Apex India for corporate and individual environmental protection and pollution control in view of CSR activities, employment generation, business excellence and protective practices etc.

Member of Parliament Manoj Tiwari was the Chief Guest for the event held in New Delhi, He also addressed the winners through video message and said, “In today’s time, security is an important subject. We need people who can meet the standards of industrial safety. The steps taken by all you awardees are highly appreciated and it is has increased hope that even new ideas that are suggested will be incorporated in ground reality.”

On this occasion, retired Major General Shri PK Sehgal (Defense Specialist) honored all the winners by giving them their due awards. Rama Shankar Dubey, Senior Manager, HSU, Sarguja Cluster, received the award on behalf of Adani Enterprises Limited.

It is worth mentioning that earlier also Adani Enterprises Limited was awarded the Greentech Distinguished Excellence Award for valuable work in “Industry Sector Safety Excellence and Environment Protection”. The institution received the award for Adani Enterprises Limited-Natural Resources-Parsa East and Kanta Basan Opencast Coal Mine Project.

Apart from this, efforts are being made to give healthy and happy life to local citizens and villagers through various CSR activities undertaken by Adani Foundation near the project site. Rural women are being taken care of by providing them self-employment generating routes like pad distribution, bags and earthworm manure manufacturing units by the multipurpose Women Co-operative Society (MUBBS) created by the continuous efforts from Adani Foundation.
