Srinagar, October 7
In yet another targeted killing of Hindu community in Kashmir, two government school teachers, including a woman, were shot dead by militants in Eidgah area of Srinagar here on Thursday.
At Safa Kadal in downtown Srinagar, the principal and a teacher of Government Boys High School were dragged out by the militants and shot point blank. The incident took place at around 11.15 am.
There civilians, including Makhan Lal Bindroo, a Kashmiri Pandit and the owner of Srinagar’s most famous pharmacy, were shot dead by suspected militants in separate incidents in Srinagar and Bandipora districts on Tuesday.
Virender Paswan of Bhagalpur who had a small business at Lal chowk, Srinagar was gunned down by militants. He stayed at Zadibal.
Two Kashmiri pandits, who had dared to stay in the valley so far, were killed at point blank range, reminding one of chilling days of early 1990.
The police said the area had been cordoned off and a massive hunt had been launched to nail the attackers.
