Patna, May 21

One person was killed while two others were injured in a bloody clash today following a dispute between two parties during voting in Saran Lok Sabha seat of Bihar yesterday.

According to reports, a clash between BJP and RJD workers took place on Monday near a polling booth. The constituency went to the polls on Monday. The video of the clash went viral in the social media.

The incident took an ugly twist on Tuesday when RJD workers reached the house of BJP leaders and tried to assault them. Both sides became furious that resulted in heavy firing from both sides. Three persons sustained bullet injuries in the incident.

One of the injured and RJD activist Chandan Rai succumbed to his injuries while two others have been hospitalised. Their condition is reported to be stable.

The Saran police have arrested BJP leader Ramakant Singh in connection with the firing. The District administration has ordered suspension of internet services in the district for two days.

After three decades, elections in Bihar turned violent with one being shot dead, two injured at Bhikhari Thakur circle at Chapra.

Chapra is a high-profile constituency as former Union Minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy (BJP) is pitted against Rohini, daughter of RJD President Lalu Prasad.
