In a major administrative reshuffle of bureaucracy in Bihar, Development Commissioner Amir Subhani has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of the state.
He is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of 1987 batch.
Subhani, topper of his batch, was the home secretary of the state for 15 years since Nitish Kumar took over oath as Chief Minister in 2000.
State government changed secretaries of health, social welfare and irrigation departments. District Magistrates of 12 districts were also replaced.
MS Dhillon, SP of Samastipur will be the senior SP of Patna. He is among over a dozen SPs transferred.
Notification issued on Thursday evening said 50 IPS officers have been affected in the biggest reshuffle at the year end.
