Amit Shah offers puja at Danteshwari Temple in Chhattisgarh

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday performed puja-archana of Maa Danteshwari at the historic temple at Dantewada in Chhattisgarh.

Shah along with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and his cabinet colleague reached Dantewada on Saturday on a day visit to the district once infamous for deadliest Maoist violence. The Union Home Minister performed the puja on the auspicious occasion of Chaitra Navratri.

Built in the 11-12th century, Danteshwari Temple is dedicated to Goddess Danteshwari, and is one of the 52 Shakti Peethas, shrines of Shakti, the divine feminine, spread across India.

The Union Home Minister prayed for the happiness, prosperity and well-being of the country and the people of the state.

The Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma, Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam, Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, MLA Kiran Deo and other public representatives and officials were present.
