The Director (Finance) of the National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC), Amitava Mukherjee has been given the additional charge of Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of NMDC Steel Limited (NSL).
A wholly owned subsidiary of NMDC Limited, NMDC Steel Limited was incorporated on January 2, 2015, under the Companies Act, 2013 with a registered office at NMDC Iron and Steel Plant, Nagarnar (Bastar, Chhattisgarh). The NSL has set up a 3 MTPA greenfield integrated steel plant in Nagarnar.
“In terms of Ministry of Steel, Government of India’s order No.4(3) dated 20.03.2023, notice is hereby given that the additional charge of the post of CMD, NMDC Steel Limited is assigned to Shri Amitava Mukherjee, Director (Finance), NMDC Steel Limited for an initial period of 3 months up to 31 .05.2023, or till regular incumbent joins the post, or until further orders, whichever is the earliest,” NMDC Limited said in a regulatory filing.
Notice is also hereby given that Sumit Deb, Chairman-and-Managing Director (CMD), NMDC Steel Limited, is relieved from the services of the Company on 28.02.20 23 on attaining the age of superannuation, the company said. Accordingly, he ceased to be a Director on the Board of the Company with effect from 01.03.2023.
Abhijit Narendra, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Steel has been appointed as Government Nominee Director and Vishwanath Suresh as Director (Commercial) in the NMDC Steel Limited until further orders.
