A five-day Faculty Development Program was organized by Amity University Chhattisgarh on “Coping the Pandemic through Positive Affirmation” from 24th May to 28th May 2021 on virtual mode.
This was a much-needed FDP since everyone was affected heavily by the second wave of Covid-19 earlier this year. The aim of the program was to identify and address the problems faced by the people in various sectors in India and suggest ways to cope up with the negativity rampant during the pandemic through positive affirmations.
Dr Sushim Dubey, Professor in the Department of Philosophy, Nava Nalanda Mahavihar, Ministry of Culture, Government of India emphasized on the importance of the Ancient Indian Traditions, Bhagavad Gita, Upanishadic and Yogic views in staying positive and developing immunity. Dr Gautam Chatterjee, former Professor of Banaras Hindu University, spoke on how sharing silence heals the tormented mind.
The linguistic and psychological aspects of creating positivity were dealt by Dr. Shashikanta Tarai from NIT, Raipur, and Prof Kavita Varma from GLA University, Mathura. Dr Sayan Dey from Wits Centre for Diversity Studies, University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg addressed the issue of doing research during the pandemic while staying positive. The event was coordinated by Dr Indrani Singh Rai, Head, School of Languages. Prof Rajendra Kumar Pandey, the Vice Chancellor and Prof VS Dahima, Dy Pro Vice Chancellor of the University congratulated the organizing team of Amity School of Languages for the successful conduction of the event.
