Amity School of Communication, Amity University Chhattisgarh hosted the online fact-checking training workshop on COVID-19 vaccines.
Google News Initiative (GNI) , which was launched by Google in 2018, is conducting the training series of 30 online workshops in 30 states and UTs. Amity University Chhattisgarh was the only university in the state to host this mega event online on May 21, 2021. The aim was to inform and create awareness about the techniques of identifying misinformation, false claims and rumors related to COVID-19 Vaccines.
GNI India Training Network Trainers covered understanding Vaccine Misinformation, Vaccine Misinfo Narratives and Data Deficits,
How to monitor conversations on social media? and Keywords and Search Queries in the workshop. Media Students, Practitioners and Educators from across the state joined the event.
People are still not fully aware about the information related to the Vaccination and get confused due to the misinformation, rumors and infodemic.
Mr. Nimish Kapoor and Mr. Sudhir Gore of GNI were the resource persons on this occasion. They answered all the queries of the participants in the workshop with suitable examples.
They enlightened all the participants on the varied areas of vaccination. Prof. (Dr.) Suresh Chandra Nayak, HOI, Amity School of Communication was chosen to represent the university at the workshop. The participants were loaded with lots of information related to Covid-19 vaccination and were happy to interact with the trainers. The initiative of the school was appreciated by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof.R.K.Pandey and Dy.PVC, Prof. V.S.Dahima.
