Anil Kumar took the charge as Executive Director (ED) of NTPC LARA on 26th May 2024 upon transfer of Akhilesh Singh.
Kumar was the CEO of Jhabua power station in Madhya Pradesh. As head of the project, he shall be responsible for all the activities of Lara station.
Anil Kumar, joined NTPC in the year 1987. Prior to Lara, he had rendered his service in NTPC’s Badarpur, Faridabad, country’s largest power plant NTPC Vindhyachal, Meja, NTPC’s Noida office and Jhabua power plant in different capacities.
NTPC Lara station is the fastest growing station of Chhattisgarh with an installed capacity of 1600 megawatt. This station is going to add another 1600 megawatt (2×800). 50 percent generated electricity is supplied to Chhattisgarh state only and the rest is supplied to Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujrat, Goa, Daman and Diu.
His appointment signifies a new chapter of progress and prosperity for Lara project, reaffirming its commitment to providing reliable energy solutions for Chhattisgarh and nation. During his illustrious 37-year career Anil Kumar played a pivotal role in enhancing operational efficiency and maintaining high standards of performance. His leadership has been characterised by strategic vision and a commitment to excellence, driving the project towards success.
