Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said today there was a very good environment for the development of tribal communities as the governments at the Centre and state were committed to it.

“Along with the Chhattisgarh government, the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is committed to the social, educational and economic development of the tribal community,” Sai said at the oath taking ceremony of the newly elected Managing Committee of Chhattisgarh Sarva Adivasi Samaj held here on Saturday. Both the governments care about the tribal community, he added.

“Today we remember former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee who created the state of Chhattisgarh for the upliftment of the tribals. When I was an MP, he formed the Ministry of Tribal Welfare. Today, a woman from the tribal society is adorned with the post of President of India and in Chhattisgarh too, a tribal’s son is the Chief Minister. This is a matter of great pride,” Sai said.

He added that continuous work is being done for the development of the tribal community. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started the Dharti Aaba Janjati Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan on October 2. Over 5 crore tribal people will get the benefit of this campaign. Many villages of Chhattisgarh are included in the campaign. All basic services including road, electricity and water are being made available in these villages.

The Chief Minister said that there were special backward tribes in Chhattisgarh for whose development the Prime Minister Janman Yojana has been started. Under this scheme, basic facilities and services are provided to these groups. Today, wherever there is a settlement of special backward tribes, all facilities including road, electricity, ration card, Ayushman card are being provided. Now the new education policy is also implemented in Chhattisgarh. The policy is employment oriented. “With this, our children will be able to get employment after studying. Prayas Sansthan is doing a very good job in Chhattisgarh so that tribal children get success in competitive examinations,” Sai said.

“We have increased the seats of Tribal Youth Hostel to 200 for the children of tribal society preparing for UPSC in the country’s capital New Delhi. We are going to build a Nalanda campus in the entire state like the one in capital Raipur. Approval has been given to build Nalanda campus in 22 districts of the state. With this, children from all areas of Chhattisgarh will be able to prepare for competitive examinations by staying in their district. Surguja Development Authority and Bastar Development Authority are working for the betterment of tribal society,” the Chief Minister added.

Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh said that Chhattisgarh was developing rapidly under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. Today paddy is being purchased from farmers at the rate of Rs 3100 per quintal. Rs 1000 is being given to mothers and sisters under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana. In one year, the government has worked for the welfare of the people through many schemes.

Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the government is working for the all-round development of all sections of the society including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and backward classes. “I hope that the organization of Chhattisgarh Sarva Adivasi Samaj will become the voice of the exploited victims of the society and reach the government and administration,” Netam added.
