Avinash Tripathi gets doctorate from Chhattisgarh’s Guru Ghasidas University

Guru Ghasidas Central University in Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur has awarded a PhD degree in Journalism and Mass Communication to Avinash Tripathi.

Avinash has submitted a thesis titled ‘Socio-cultural perspective of web serials and its impact on youth (with special reference to Sacred Games web serial)’. He did his research under the guidance and supervision of Dr. Gopa Bagchi, former Associate Professor, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Central University.

Under the research, Avinash studied the impact of web series on the youth. On one hand the web series is motivating the youth to dream big while on the other hand it is also teaching the youth new methods of crime. The web series is also promoting the use of abuses in the dialogue language of the youth.

Avinash has also received Dr. Ambedkar Doctoral Fellowship from Dr. Ambedkar International Center of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India for the PhD research work.

During his PhD research, Avinash also did the work of writing research papers on various aspects of journalism. The open oral presentation of his research work was organized on July 7 2023. After which he was awarded the degree of PhD in Journalism by issuing a notification by the university.
