Ayodhya, November 13
The Holy city of Ayodhya is all set for the fourth Deepotsav on Friday with the administration gearing up to set a new Guinness World record by lighting 551,000 earthen diyas at 28 ghats in the temple town.
Last year, a Guinness World Record was also made when 410,000 earthen lamps were lit up on the banks of the Saryu river. A bulk of diyas were lit up at the renovated Ram Ki Paidi ghats, where chief minister Yogi Adityanath and governor Anandiben Patel presided over the event.
The function started in the evening by lighting the earthen lamps at Shri Ramjanm Bhumi Temple and aarti of Ramlala. This would be the first Deepotsav since the verdict in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute came and the start of construction work for the grand and magnificent temple.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said next year, the number of earthen lamps would reach 7 lakh 51 thousand. He said that state government would develop all the places related with lord Rama. He said that the international airport at Ayodhya would be connected with Korea, Nepal and Thailand.
The entire Ayodhya city would be decorated with lights on the theme of Ramayana.
This is a historic diwali celebration in the heritage city which would start in evening and continue till late night. The state government had made the arrangements for every ram bhakt’s virtual participation in this event by launching a dedicated website virtualdeepotsav.com.
Earlier in the evening, Chief Minister and other dignitaries did RAJTILAK of Lord Rama, Lakahman and Sita. They arrived in a helicopter that was named “pushpak vimaan” reminiscing the return of Lord Rama in Ayodhya in treta yog.
