B Venkateswarlu today took over as the Project Head of National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC), Bacheli.
He succeeded P K Majumdar, who was superannuated from the services of the Corporation on December 31. As Project Head, NMDC, Bacheli, Venkateswarlu brings with him a rich experience of 30 years in the mining sector. He will also be responsible for the efficient functioning of the corporation as well as for achieving the corporate objectives and performance parameters.
Bacheli is one of the two complexes managed by the country’s largest iron ore producer in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district.
Earlier Venkateshwarlu was working as the Chief General Manager (Production) of NMDC, Bacheli. He has been associated with the state-run miner since 1992 and is heading the production department.
He has always been striving to give a new dimension to the vision and mission of the company. Venkateswarlu is a graduate in Mining Engineering from the Institute of Engineers, Kolkata. In the year 1998, he also received the Certificate of First Class Mines Managers’ Competency for Opencast Metal Mines. After which he did PG Diploma in Computer Application and also obtained MBA degree in Human Resource Management.
He has consistently proved his mettle in his career by facing various challenges and delivering stellar performances.
Congratulating his successor on assuming office, Majumdar said he was sure that under Venkateswarlu’s leadership, NMDC, Bacheli would definitely grow rapidly. Venkateswarlu said under Mazumdar’s leadership, they had prepared the company for strategic diversification and continued profitable growth.
“We are getting opportunities for continuous growth, which I am committed to take advantage of to take the company on the path of progress. It is an honor for me to lead this project and I look forward and committed to continuing with our strategic plans and achieving the company’s goals,” Venkateswarlu said.
