Bharat Aluminium Company (BALCO), India’s leading aluminium producer, has been recognized among the ‘Most Trusted Brands of India 2021’.
A CNBC TV18 event recognizes brands from various sectors that have contributed to the nation building agenda and celebrates the best the industry has to offer to the society and the economy, especially in the face of a global pandemic that has disrupted the normal ways of working.
The prestigious recognition, synonymous with consumer trust and quality, reflects BALCO’s unique positioning as a brand that is innovative, trustworthy, agile and delivers the best quality products and services to its customers and partners.
As part of the assessment, the business management consulting firm Team Marksmen conducted a survey across more than 5 lakh towns, covering various channel partners and consumers in urban and rural areas, to find the most trusted brands of India. BALCO emerged as the brand that has made a special place for itself in the hearts and mind of its consumers, inspiring trust and confidence in the brand, post this exercise. The recognition stands testimony to BALCO’s operational excellence in an ever-evolving business environment that puts its products at par with global leaders in aluminium.

BALCO is owned 49 per cent by the Government of India and 51 per cent by Vedanta Limited. The company operates a 0.57 MTPA aluminium smelter in Korba, Chhattisgarh, and is widely acclaimed as one of India’s greatest disinvestment and privatization success stories. The company has seen approximately a growth of roughly 6 times since the government divested a 51 per cent stake.
Vedanta Limited is the world’s 6th largest diversified natural resources company and the largest producer of aluminium in India. BALCO operates a 0.57 million tonne per annum aluminium smelter in Korba, Chhattisgarh. It is also a leader in value-added aluminium products that find critical applications in core industries. With its world-class smelter and power plants, the company fulfills its mission of spurring emerging applications of aluminium as the ‘Metal of the Future’ for a greener tomorrow.
