Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO), India’s iconic aluminium producer and a subsidiary of Vedanta Aluminium, celebrated Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and cherished the glorious years of independent India on the occasion of India’s 76th Independence Day at Aluminium Bhawan.
Abhijit Pati, CEO and Director, BALCO, unfurled the National Tricolour at the main function held on Monday. In his Independence Day speech, Pati applauded BALCO family members for their dedicated efforts towards operational excellence. He reiterated all the important benchmarks that BALCO has achieved and the important part that it has played in the growth and development of region through its community development endeavours, environmental and social initiatives as well as business ecosystem.
He addressed the audience on the growth plans for BALCO, aligned to the national vision of making India a manufacturing powerhouse, and urged everyone to be a part of this journey and fulfill their responsibility towards the nation.
Speaking about BALCO’s contribution to India’s growth story, BALCO CEO said, “BALCO has contributed significantly to the state of Chhattisgarh and our country throughout its more than five-decade long journey. With our dedicated efforts towards operational excellence, we are ensuring that the unprecedented growth of the nation is met through domestic production and value-addition, thus making India ‘Atmanirbhar’. With sustainable development at the guiding principle, BALCO is striving to lead the nation at global level through manufacturing excellence.”
Celebrating the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign launched by the Government of India, members of the BALCO family overwhelmingly participated in the campaign hoisting the flag at home and workstations, thus making the organization an active contributor to the success of the campaign. The Independence Day event also witnessed felicitation of best performing security guards and employees who participated in the cultural activities. Pati also launched a movie during the celebration event showcasing transformational journey of BALCO.
Pati also visited the BALCO Hospital and distributed fruits to the in-house patients, along with senior leaders of the organization. He also conveyed his gratitude and appreciation to the medical professionals of BALCO Hospital for their selfless dedication towards making healthcare accessible for all.
