Onam festival was celebrated with great joy and religious devotion at Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO), a Vedanta Group company.
On the occasion, special puja was organized at BALCO Ayyappa temple, in which the company’s Chief Executive Officer and Director Rajesh Kumar and senior officials participated. They joined the traditional rituals and prayed for the progress of BALCO and happiness, peace and prosperity for the employees and their families.
A devotional and cultural atmosphere prevailed in the entire campus. The temple was decorated attractively and traditional flower rangolis (Pookkalam) added a special touch of Onam. After the puja, the atmosphere became more spiritual with devotional music and praise.
The program was attended by BALCO employees and all the devotees of the township, who enjoyed the Onam festival with full enthusiasm. Many families dressed in traditional attire added to the cultural splendor of the festival. The flavour and togetherness of the Onam Sadya (traditional feast) made the event a spiritual success.
The event became not just a religious ritual but also a celebration of unity, brotherhood and cultural diversity in the BALCO community. A special Onam meal was organised on Sunday at the Company’s GET Hostel.
Onam is being celebrated every year at the Ayyappa Temple in BALCO since 1989. The Company has wholeheartedly embraced not only industrial progress but also celebrations of society and culture.
