Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO), India’s iconic aluminum producer and a subsidiary of Vedanta Aluminium, celebrated the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan with their safety and security personnel, fostering a spirit of togetherness.
In addition, the company celebrated this significant Indian festival with the women members of SHGs, reinforcing its commitment to empowering communities.
Celebration with Safety and Security Personnel: This Raksha Bandhan, employees from BALCO tied ‘Rakhis’ to their security personnel, who ensure round the clock safety and security of its operations. The festivity, hosted within the company precinct, witnessed employees expressing their profound gratitude towards their security and safety personnel. The event witnessed the heartwarming tradition of tying auspicious threads of ‘Rakhis’, symbolizing protection, and trust, onto the wrists of security and safety personnel, including the newly inducted transgender security personnel, reinforcing the values of occupational safety.
Celebration with Self-Help Groups: BALCO marked the occasion of Rakhi with its self-help group members where the women of the SHGs tied their handcrafted Rakhis onto the wrists of the leadership team, symbolizing their deep appreciation for BALCO’s transformative Project Unnati. This project has been instrumental in fostering empowerment and skill development among these women, nurturing their entrepreneurial capabilities.
Celebration at Nand Ghars: In addition to the celebration with Self Help Groups, BALCO’s leadership team came together to celebrate the festival of Rakhi with the children of Nand Ghar. A part of Vedanta’s flagship, Nand Ghar, is dedicated to fostering women and child development within communities. The team from BALCO shared sweets and thoughtful gifts, bringing smiles to the faces of the children, who gather at Nand Ghars daily and are provided with enhanced educational and nutritional opportunities.
