BALCO Mahila Mandal celebrated Teej Festival with great jollity and religious fervour in the township.
The programme started with lighting of lamps, Ganesh Stuti and Shankhnaad by the office bearers of the Mandal. More than 65 members gave a beautiful presentation of their cultural heritage in traditional attire in the festival.
Traditional cultural presentations and Teej competition were organized in the programme, in which winners were selected in six categories. The winners include Teej Queen Seema Sahu, First Runner-up Alka Prithvikar, Second Runner-up Ila Chhugani, Miss Stunning Beauty Anuradha, Miss Elegant Simplicity Simran Jain and Miss Traditional Pageant Honey Deole. The event reinforced the spirit of preservation of Indian cultural traditions, as well as strengthened mutual harmony and unity among the members of the club.
The event was led by club president Mrs Manisha Kumar in association with Mrs Vinita Singh, Mrs Rama Dwivedi, Mrs Vandana Sharma and Mrs Divya Ojha. Secretary Mrs Sushmita Srivastava and treasurer Mrs Pallavi Patil expressed their gratitude to all the members of BALCO Mahila Mandal and the chief guest for the successful organisation of the programme.
They said that BALCO Mahila Mandal is playing an important role in the upliftment of Balconagar through its cultural programme. Members Mrs Monica Kochar, Mrs Ankita Singh, Mrs Shivani Prasad, Mrs Jagriti Singh and Mrs Neetu Verma played a key role in making this event a grand success.
Various activities were organised by BALCO Mahila Mandal in recent days. On the occasion of World Environment Day, club members planted trees together. Yoga was organised on International Yoga Day, social message was shared through dance performance on World Social Media Day, while a delightful Antakshari competition was organised on World Music Day.
