Red carpets were rolled out in the steel city of Bhilai to accord a historic welcome to N K Banchhor, the newly re-elected Chairman of Steel Executives Federation of India (SEFI).
Banchore, the President of Bhilai Steel Plant Officers Association, has been re-elected as the Chairman of SEFI, a body of about 20,000 officers working in the steel sector of the country. On reaching Bhilai from Hyderabad on Sunday, he was given a grand welcome in the steel city.
Amidst beating of drums, attractive fireworks were the centre of attraction even as Pragati Bhavan, Officer Association’s (OA) building, was colourfully illuminated to receive Banchhor. The office bearers of OA, zonal representatives and general members, people from various social institutions and officers of the former officers’ association and officers of different units were present on the occasion.
It may be noted that SEFI is the representative body of 18 officers’ associations of the country’s steel sector. It is the only organization of about 20,000 officers working in the steel sector of the country. Getting elected to the top spot of the prestigious panel is certainly a matter of pride for Bhilai.
