Bhilai’s Rohit Panda selected for international Biology Olympiad

Master Rohit Panda, son of Ranjan Kumar Panda, DGM(HME), SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant and Ms. Roopali Panda has been selected for an International Olympiad on Biology.

He is the only student to be selected from the state of Chhattisgarh for this prestigious Olympiad. The participants of the Olympiad had to go through 4 rigorous screening rounds to qualify for the 5th level of the International Olympiad.

It is noteworthy that the Homi Bhabha Science Education Center, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai organizes Olympiad examinations in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Astronomy, Junior Science and Mathematics. Under this, competition is organized at four levels in India.

Students after passing these four levels are selected for the fifth level International Olympiad. After passing these four levels, Rohit Panda has qualified for the International Olympiad of Biology. Only 4 students from the entire country have qualified for this prestigious Olympiad. The 33rd international Biology Olympiad will be held on 18th July 2022 at Yerevan city of Armenia.

Rohit Panda, a 12th standard student of DPS, Bhilai has been a marvelous student since the beginning. Master Panda has previously bagged a Silver medal in South-east Asian Mathematics Olympiad. He has also secured the 1st position in International Informatics Olympiad, qualifying his place in Hongkong. The entire Bhilai collective is proud of Master Rohit Panda’s achievements.
