Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav said that Bhopal’s Upper Lake was no less than Kashmir’s Dal Lake and would be further developed to match its charm.
With the support of the Tourism Department, shikara rides will also be introduced. He added that to win more medals for the country in the Olympics, Commonwealth, and other major international sporting events, the state is actively promoting sports activities, including water sports.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the gathering after flagging off the ‘Jal Tiranga Yatra’ from Bhopal’s Boat Club at the Upper Lake under the ongoing ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Abhiyan in the state. He waved the green flag to start the ‘Jal Tiranga Yatra’ and released a large number of ‘Tricolour’ balloons into the sky. Water sports players, riding boats used in Asian and Olympic Games, carried the national flag with discipline and pride, advancing across the Upper Lake. The sky, water and land in the area turned ‘Tricolour’. A large number of water sports athletes, students and residents of the capital took part in this unique and exciting event that strengthened the spirit of patriotism, unity, and dedication.
Sports & Youth Welfare Minister Shri Vishwas Sarang, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Backward Classes & Minority Welfare Smt. Krishna Gaur, State BJP President Shri Hemant Khandelwal, Bhopal Mayor Smt. Malti Rai, and Shri Ravindra Yati were present on this occasion.
The Independence Day celebrations began a day earlier, on August 14, with a Tiranga Yatra from the Chief Minister’s residence. Led by CM Dr. Yadav, the rally included all officers and employees posted at the CM Secretariat and residence, security personnel and the women of Didi Café, all waving the national flag. Filled with patriotic fervour, the rally echoed with slogans of ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’, resounding throughout the premises.
Massive Tiranga Yatra in Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Nagar
CM Dr. Yadav also joined the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ organised by the ‘Karm Shri’ Sanstha in Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Nagar, Kolar Road. He said Addressing the public at Mother Teresa School before the rally began, that the world has witnessed the valour and courage of the brave soldiers of the Indian Army through ‘Operation Sindoor’, conducted under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. This is a matter of pride and honour for all of us. On the eve of Independence Day, patriotic sentiment is surging in everyone’s hearts, as reflected in the crowds joining ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’, ‘Ghar Ghar Tiranga’ and the various ‘Tiranga Yatras’.
The rally taken out by former Pro-tem Speaker and MLA Shri Rameshwar Sharma is historic. The enthusiasm of school children, youth, women and senior citizens participating in it was remarkable. This massive Tiranga Yatra, which set a new record, was led by CM Dr. Yadav and saw the participation of MLA Shri Rameshwar Sharma, State BJP President Shri Hemant Khandelwal, Organisation General Secretary Shri Hitanand Sharma, public representatives and a large number of students, youth and women, all immersed in patriotic spirit.
Tiranga Yatra from Shaurya Smarak Dedicated to the Indian Army
CM Dr. Yadav also unfurled the ‘Tricolour’ at the ‘Shaurya Smarak’ to flag off a grand ‘Tiranga Yatra’ dedicated to the valour of the Indian Army under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga campaign’. He was joined by Bhopal Mayor Smt. Malti Rai and MLA from Bhopal South-West Shri Bhagwandas Sabnani. On this occasion, CM Dr. Yadav paid tribute to the martyred and valiant soldiers.
The ‘Tiranga Yatr’a from ‘Shaurya Smarak’ to ‘Bharat Mata Chowk’ (Depot Square) saw the participation of a large number of women riding two-wheelers. Models of the BrahMos and Rafale missiles, along with a chariot of Bharat Mata, were also part of the rally.
‘Tiranga Yatras’ were greeted with showers of flower petals and waving of the ‘Tricolour’ at various locations. The air echoed with patriotic songs and chants of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai, while enthusiasm for the ‘Tiranga Yatras’ was visible across all sections of society.
