Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has accentuated on building tourism infrastructure that will give fillip to the sector in the state endowed with nature’s beauty.
During the review meeting of the tourism department, Baghel directed the officials to develop new tourist destinations in the state. It would mean building new infrastructure to cater the need of the tourist visiting the centre.
Moreover, the Chief Minister also reviewed the progress of the workplan prepared to use the motels build across the state by the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board. The shabby shape and lack of basic amenities in most of the properties of the Board has failed to attract the tourists. The focus is on proper utilisation of the motels.
Baghel is envisaging to explore the huge tourism potential in Chhattisgarh. His ambitious Ram Van Gaman Tourism Circuit has put the state on national tourism spot. The first phase of the project that will develop the centres where Lord Rama visited during his exile is likely to be completed this year.
Chhattisgarh has a glorious past of Ramayana and houses Mata Kaushalya Temple in Chandkhuri. The place rebuilt by Bhupesh Baghel is the only temple of Lord Rama’s mother in the entire country.
The project will entail an investment of Rs 139 crore as the circuit expands from Koriya district in the North to Sukma district, down of South Chhattisgarh.
